She is currently offering Osteopathic Manual Therapy services at Yoga City.
History of Osteopathy
Dr. Andrew Taylor Still founded Osteopathy in 1874, following the loss of his wife, three kids, and an adopted child from spinal meningitis. The next thirty years of his life was devoted to studying human anatomy; he sought to uncover an alternative way to treat illness and disease. He embraced the philosophy that the body has a natural ability to self-regulate, through the circulation of its fluids.
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy; a type of natural medicine that looks at the human body as a continuous and interconnected network of complex systems. An osteopathic manual practitioner uses their hands as a diagnostic tool, as an avenue to palpate and employ gentle manual manipulation to the soft tissues within the bodies’ limits.
